A new poem of mine entitled 'e x I S t' went live on Plain Wrap Press this morning.
The poem’s format was inspired by Inger Christensen’s epic poem alphabet (New Directions, 2001).
You can read the full poem in Plain Wrap’s Quarter 3 Issue here, or you can snag a copy of my swaggy book ‘I Am Here’ and read it alongside other poems. I only have a couple dozen books left, so get a first print run copy before they’re sold out! xo,AO
here’s a picture of some of my crystals that rebecca snapped a photo of.

ANOUNCING THE CONTRIBUTOR LIST OF THE YOLO PAGES, FROM BOOST HOUSE
the yolo pages is an epic anthology of poems, tweets, image macros, and prose from over 50 people. one of the first anthologies ever to cover “alt lit,” “weird twitter,” and associated communities and figures, the yolo pages showcases an exciting array of possibilities for poetry in 2014. with a focus especially on politically- and spiritually-minded writers, it also affirms the integration of poetry into concrete efforts to make the world better
To my surprise I appear in Skrillex’s new music video for TRY IT OUT (featuring Alvin Risk). Briefly at the 1:24 mark I can be seen softly rocking out on the Full Flex Express tour train. I am clearly vibing, maintaining a very peaceful expression while projecting a yellow aura. Watch the whole video here.
All the books can either be bought online directly from Metatron, or at the Drawn & Quarterly location on Bernard in Montreal. The books will also be available in downtown Montreal next week, finding another nice home at Argo Bookshop.
A photo of G. and I at our last event in late April. The launch was held at an old, French pool that’s been converted into an English-based theatre company. I heard from the sound technician after the event that the place “wasn’t up to code” and that they were losing the lease to the city in order for repairs to be able to happen. Pretty sure this is the last reading that will ever happen in that pool.
The current play they have going at the pool is supposedly based on a Dov Charney-like character who finds himself in a law suit against one of his savvy, female workers. That’s a fake book shelf behind us and some AA change rooms to the left.
G and I have been doing this reading series for a couple years now. It originally started as a ploy to get my favorite writers all in the same room, and has grown expanisively since its beginngings. This Is Happening seems to always draw both a constant group of talented writers (most of who I recently published with these Metatron pocketbooks), but also a complete mix of new people. I’d say G and I are always a bit dumbfounded that we don’t know 70% of the people that are coming to the readings.
I really like it This Is Happening alot.
